Sawako Ogo is a dancer and choreographer based in Berlin, Germany, originally from Tokyo, Japan. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance from San Francisco State University and has performed the works of various choreographers including Christian Burns, Lenora Lee, Joe Landini, Natasha Adorlee, and Erin Chi-Fang Yen. In 2022, Sawako was nominated for the Isadora Duncan Dance Award for outstanding individual performance in San Francisco, California.Sawako Ogo empowers dance with freedom and curiosity in dance improvisation. She has presented her fully improvisational works at venues, festivals, and institutions including The Finnish Hall (Berkeley, CA), Lenora Lee Dance (San Francisco, CA), the Texas Improvisation Dance Festival (San Marcos, TX), and Bande á Part (Berlin, DE). Her choreographic works have been commissioned and presented by notable institutions such as Lenora Lee Dance, West Wave Dance Festival, and RAWDance in San Francisco.

sawako is drawn to the noise of symbolic objects, activities and the sound of city as a creature. combining her
rigorous classical training in piano performance, composition and improvisation and curiosity for the noise in electronic context, she shapes soundscape and driving beats that enhances the movement. She composes for her original disasterchaotic works as well as for others.
